Dallas hotel and send-off information

Georgia will play Purdue in the Sweet Sixteen at 7:00 ET on Sunday the 25th. ESPN2 will have the game.

Our cheerleaders will be having a mini pep rally this Friday to send off the Lady Dogs on their trip to Dallas for the Sweet Sixteen. The mini pep rally will be held on Friday, March 23rd at 2:50 p.m. at Stegeman Coliseum near Ticket Booth 1. Please come out and support the Lady Dogs in their quest to Cleveland! We would love to see you there. The team will be departing for Dallas immediately following the pep rally.

Lady Dogs advance to face Iowa State

Georgia beat Belmont 53-36 in Saturday’s first round game.

They advance to face #6 seed Iowa State Monday night at 7:00 p.m. ET. The game will be televised by ESPN2/ESPNU.

The winner of Monday night’s game advances to the Sweet Sixteen. Georgia has been to four consecutive Sweet Sixteen rounds.


Team send-off on Thursday

If you’d like to wish the team well as they leave for Minneapolis, join them at these two campus locations on Thursday afternoon:

The team will be leaving Stegeman Coliseum on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. and then departing East Village Commons at 1:15.

They are punctual, so count on being there a little early if you plan on sending them off.

Don’t forget - Georgia opens the 2007 NCAA Tournament against Belmont on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 ET. The game will be broadcast by ESPN.

Ticket information from Athens:

The 14th ranked Lady Dogs (25-6) will be making their 24th NCAA Tournament appearance when they face Belmont on Saturday, March 17 in the 1st Round in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Georgia/Belmont winner will take on the winner of the Iowa State/Washington game on Monday, March 19 in the 2nd round. Tip-off for both rounds is TBA. (Ed: The Saturday game will be at 2:30 Eastern Time.)

Tickets are $26 per session (two games per session). Fans will only be charged for the sessions that the Lady Dogs participate in. Tickets can be ordered by calling the Athletic Association Ticket Office at 1-877-542-1231 beginning at 8:30am Tuesday, March 13th. All tickets ordered can be picked up at the Williams Arena Will-Call Ticket Window on the day of the game.

2007 Women's Final Four
The Georgia Lady Bulldogs were awarded the #3 seed in the Dallas region of the 2007 NCAA Women’s Tournament. They will face #14-seed Belmont in the first round on Saturday March 17th at 2:30 p.m. in Minneapolis. The game will be televised by ESPN.

If Georgia advances, they will face the winner of the Iowa State (#6 seed) vs. Washington State (#11) game.
