Looking Ahead To Florida
History beckons tomorrow night in Gainesville. Tomorrow night, Andy Landers can become only the third NCAA women’s basketball coach to win 700 games at a single school. Yet another line to be added to his Hall of Fame plaque. For a game of this stature, it’s only appropriate that the opposition would be a big-time traditional rival.
Tomorrow night. Georgia vs. Florida. 700. That’s really all the preview you need.
But…since you’re already here…let’s do this thing right: Florida heads into this key SEC matchup with a 13-5 overall record (2-1 in league play). They rolled up on Arkansas in Fayetteville this past Sunday, 92-74. The Gators bring a potent one-two scoring attack to the table with junior forward Marshae Dotson (15.4 PPG) and senior guard Depree Bowden (14.2 PPG) ranking among the top ten scorers in the SEC. Getting on the glass will be key for the Lady Bulldogs in this game as Florida is the second-best offensive rebounding team in the conference. Look for Angel and Tasha to establish their presence down low early on. As always, playing on the road, avoiding foul trouble will be a priority.
The Lady Bulldogs and the Gators will tip it off at 7:00 tomorrow night at the O’Connell Center in Gainesville. Jeff and Mack will call the action on your local Georgia Bulldog Radio Network station.
Georgia vs. Florida. 700. ‘Nuff said.
