This Week’s Polls: Georgia 24th, 22nd

Tuesday February 19, 2008

The Lady Bulldogs are ranked 24th in the latest AP poll and 22nd in this week’s ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll. That AP ranking marks a return for Georgia to that particular poll after being unranked last week by the writers for the first time since 2003. Connecticut is back at number-one in both polls, followed by North Carolina at number-two. Tennessee falls to third on the heels of their big loss at home to LSU. Apparently the timekeeper in Knoxville couldn’t keep his thumb on the clock button long enough to make up a 16-point deficit. Maryland is fourth in the AP poll while the coaches went with Rutgers at number-four.
