NCAA Tournament: Looking Ahead To UNC
Carolina is Carolina. What else is there to say? One of the benchmark programs in all of the nation. If you follow women’s college basketball at all, you know the names. Erlana Larkins (pictured). LaToya Pringle. Rashanda McCants. Coach Sylvia Hatchell. Playing for a third straight trip to the Final Four. The Tarheels come into tonight’s game sporting a 31-2 record (14-0 in ACC play), losing only to Tennessee and Connecticut. The Lady Bulldogs will need to slow down Carolina’s run-and-gun offense and knock down their own shots to advance to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. You don’t want to get into a shootout with North Carolina. Control the tempo and "D" up. Make them run a lot of half-court offensive sets. It’s daunting…but do-able…for Georgia. The Lady Bulldogs summoned up several long stretches of their best basketball of the season against Iowa. It may well take forty minutes of it to knock off the Tarheels.
