Andy’s Hall Of Fame Display Unveiled

Monday October 20, 2008

This past Saturday, a display honoring Coach Andy Landers upon his induction into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame was unveiled at the Stegeman Coliseum Practice Facility. University of Georgia Director of Athletics Damon Evans attended the unveiling ceremony, as did a host of former Lady Bulldog players, including Bernadette Locke-Maddox, Carla Green Williams, Ann Stone, and the greatest player to ever don the red-and-black, Teresa Edwards (who read a poem she penned for the occasion). The display is located just outside the Lady Bulldogs Basketball office on the second floor of the Coliseum Practice Facility.

A big “Thank You!” goes out to Fastbreak Club board member Brenda Rawson for taking these pictures at the unveiling ceremony and sharing them with all of us.

Pre-Season Party Pictures

Tuesday October 7, 2008

The food was a little bit late and that caused the schedule for the evening to undergo some last-minute rearrangement. Good thing there was a Hall of Fame master of improvisation on hand. Coach Landers assigned himself the role of “time filler” and he proceeded to make a room full of Fastbreakers forget about dinner (for a half-hour or so, anyway) as, instead, he had everyone eating from the palm of his hand. Here are a dozen pictures from the annual Fastbreak Club Pre-Season Party, including your first look at this season’s “Tenacious Ten (Plus One),” your 2008-09 University of Georgia Lady Bulldogs.

TONIGHT! Fastbreak Club Pre-Season Party!

Tuesday October 7, 2008

Tonight’s the night we start getting it all cranked up again at the annual Fastbreak Club Pre-Season Party. The players and coaches will be there, all your fellow Fastbreakers will be there…and we look forward to seeing you there. You’ll meet the 2008-09 edition of your Lady Bulldogs and hear first-hand from the man himself, Coach Andy Landers. Throw in some good eating (as always) and you’ve got yourself the first can’t-miss Fastbreak Club event of the new season. The festivities tip off at 6:00 this evening at Flinchum’s Phoenix (directions below). We look forward to seeing you all tonight as the official countdown to another exciting season of Lady Bulldog basketball gets underway.

Directions: Flinchum’s Phoenix is located at the end of South Milledge Avenue. Milledge will fork when it comes to Whitehead Road. Take the right fork, cross Whitehead Road, and enter Whitehall Forest. Look for the sign just to the left of the entrance. Stay on the main road for 1.5 miles until it dead-ends at Flinchum’s Phoenix.
