TOMORROW: Georgia vs. LSU
For the first time in years, “The Van and Andy Show” is rolling back into Athens. When Van Chancellor (pictured) left Ole Miss to coach the WNBA’s Houston Comets, he spent his off-seasons as the color commentator/analyst for FOX’s SEC Game of the Week broadcasts. It was always a treat when Georgia played in the Game of the Week because you knew at some point Van was going to end up interviewing Andy…and the results were always hilarious. The two good buddies will get their laughs in during pre-game festivities tonight…but then it will be all business. These two coaches both need this game, big-time. Right now, Andy’s Lady Bulldogs (5-5, SEC) trail Van’s LSU Lady Tigers (6-4, SEC) by one game in league play. With the larger-than-usual number of regular season losses both teams have suffered, it is absolutely imperative to end up with a winning SEC record if they want to sneak into the Big Dance in March. Long story short: This is the biggest game of the season so far.
If you’re a University student and you can manage to pull yourself away from your PlayStation or “Grey’s Anatomy,” you can score some free pizza and and a “Beat LSU” t-shirt tomorrow night. Just be one of the first 300 students at the Coliseum for the game. Everybody else, Fastbreakers included, you know the drill. The stakes are high and the Lady Dawgs need your spirit and your loud mouths for this one. Georgia and LSU will tip things off at 7:00 tomorrow night. If you can’t make it, tune in to your local Georgia Bulldog Radio Network affiliate station. We’ll have a game recap and exclusive photos right here on your official Fastbreak Club weblog a couple of hours after the final buzzer.
