The Chattanooga Game
Georgia – 74, Chattanooga – 57. The explosive Georgia backcourt of Ashley (pictured) and J.J. combined for 46 points as the Lady Dawgs moved to 2-0 with a 74-57 win over Chattanooga’s Lady Mocs. Georgia trailed the Lady Mocs by three at halftime…but Ash was unstoppable after the intermission, scoring 10 points in the first three-and-a-half minutes of the second half. After that initial run, J.J. starting jacking three-pointers from way downtown, allowing the Lady Bulldogs to win going away. J.J. led all scorers with 25 points while Ashley thrilled all the folks who made the short trip over from Trenton to cheer for the conquering hometown hero with a 21-point night of her own.
Rutgers comes to Stegeman this Sunday afternoon, the second high profile and high star power inter-conference matchup in as many weeks for the Lady Bulldogs. Legends…and I mean capital-”L” Legends, fellow Fastbreakers…will collide as two coaches, C. Vivian Stringer for Rutgers and our own Andy Landers, with over 1600 combined career wins will go head-to-head. Not enough for you yet? Okay…how about a halftime salute to our Olympic Hall of Famer, soon-to-be Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer, and arguably the greatest women’s basketball player ever, Teresa Edwards? Now you’re sold, right? Well, we’re gonna sell it to you for a buck. That’s right…this Sunday is “Thanks For Being A Dawg Day” and you get to see Georgia and Rutgers throw down for one skinny dollar at the gate on game day. You simply won’t find more entertainment value for your buck anywhere than at Stegeman Coliseum this Sunday afternoon. See you there.
We’ll have a Georgia/Rutgers preview and game links posted sometime on Friday night. Meanwhile, use the link below to read all about the Georgia/Chattanooga game.

From Chattanooga – a huge Georgia crowd tonight. During the 2nd half, the UTC students/fans started booing Ashley every time she had the ball. But the UGA fans were too strong. Every time they booed, we cheered and drowned them out!
Mike, I’ll end pictures tomorrow when I get home.

You could hear some of the booing on the radio…but after every big play by Georgia, a roar would go up and you’d think it was a Stegeman crowd. Looking forward to seeing/posting those pics…
