We’re looking forward to seeing all the Fastbreakers tonight for the Club’s signature event and season’s-end tradition…the annual Fastbreak Club Awards Banquet. Former Lady Bulldog sharpshooter Mary Beth (Lycett) Smart will be our hostess for the evening as we look back on this past season and hear a little bit about what to expect next year from Coach Landers. In addition, team awards will be presented along with the Fastbreak Club’s own “Mr. Bob” and John Mooney Spirit Awards. It will also be a chance to say goodbye to our Lady Bulldog senior trio of Ashley Houts, Christy Marshall, and Angel Robinson. Don’t forget to bring your cameras and items you’d like signed as the evening’s activities will once again tip-off with the team autograph/photo session at 6:00 PM. With the 16th pick in the WNBA Draft, Ashley Houts (pictured) was chosen by the New York Liberty.

With the 20th pick in the WNBA Draft, Angel Robinson (pictured) was chosen by the Los Angeles Sparks.

The word “congratulations” almost seems inadequate. Ash and Angel, the All-SEC seniors who’ve been the heart and soul of our Lady Bulldogs over the course of the last four years, are headed to the WNBA’s high-rent district…where they will play for the league’s two most glamorous franchises.

Congratulations, best wishes, and we’ll see you both at Philips Arena in a few weeks.
